State of the Chronic
When there isn’t one cohesive overall goal for a post, it is always difficult to figure out how to start it, hence this introduction. This post is going to serve as being a “state of the union” kind of post, covering a few different topics/questions that have been common inquiries. I have one request if you are going to choose to comment on this post, PLEASE read it in its entirety, I get very tired of repeating that!! Also, please do not trust ANY blogs giving you vague predictions or claiming to have “inside info” no matter how benevolent and innocuous they appear, they are still generally purveyors of snake oil.
There are a few different things I’m going to try to cover in this post, while being concise for the attention span impaired 
- iPad 2 Jailbreak status (*gasp*)
- 4.3.x support in greenpois0n
- greenpois0n merchandise / store.
iPad 2
As I’m sure many people have heard, Josh (posixninja) has recently been quoted saying the iPad 2 jailbreak is coming in “weeks”, I know I have been very publicly abrasive and non-commital on giving any kind of timeframe or comment on this matter, but at the behest of Josh (in conjunction with his need for a swift kick to the ass for motivation) we’re ALL going to hold him to that!!! I’m not going to get into extensive detail about this, but what I will say one of the missing puzzle pieces may have reared its head and cast a glance in our direction… take from that what you will.
NOTE: Â WE will hold him to that, please do NOT badger him with “is it done yet, when will it be ready?!?!, does it wear a slipcover from an elevator sandwich?”
4.3.x support in greenpois0n
In the past I have also said that 4.3.x support was on hold for greenpois0n to focus on iPad 2 jailbreak exclusively, our course has slightly changed (primary focus has never shifted from iPad 2 since it was released) it has now become possible to easily update and execute a workflow to enable RC6.2 (tentatively speaking… mmm #dirt) to be released “soon”…
greenpois0n merchandise / store front
Several people may have noticed I have been parading greenpois0n swag across my twitter/yfrog account for a while… (sorry about that!, just couldn’t keep it to myself…) We are still working out some important pieces of that puzzle. Several variables still need to be solved, i.e. what process we are going to use for the shirts; screen printing, heat press vinyl (not likely for large production… maybe limited edition / contest based stuff: stay tuned) There will be store front where some of the designs I have shown on my twitter/yfrog WILL be available. The ones that will probably be limited edition / presses will be the hoodies and the pois0ned white shirts, I will try to get a composite from Aaron next time I see him with what a green apple would look like, do not worry the red apple on the shirt is not set in stone!
Re: time frame, to be brutally honest this is the lowest on the priority totem pole (sorry something has to be) but we are still constantly working on it with remaining spare time, we’ll get this stuff to you as soon as we can!

Quick question: iPad2 was ordered on April 17th and received on 7th of May. What are the chances that it came with iOS v4.3?
practically 0. i ordered mine first week of April, came with 4.3.3. Delivered 24th May. Took longer due to engravement apparently and DHL screwing around.

not until rc6.2, the current greenpois0n release is only capable of handling one firmware version per device.
Ya but with snowbreeze you gotta get the ipsw file and all that crap nit to mention restore in iTunes during the jailbreak which I dont feel comfortable doing

Ok hi my name so I have an iPad 1 with 4.3.3 firmware. And the only program I trust to jailbreak it is green poison. But formsome reason. Can not friggin find a legit place that I can jailbreak my iPad with 4.3.3 firmware. And on this website the highest firmware is 4.2.1 and I don’t have that and I DO NOT WANT to down grade because
1) I’ll need to get the firmware and I have no idea why but when dowlading the firmware on to a windows7 Dell laptop it doesn’t work.
2) and I don’t want to lose ALLLL my apps and information on here.
So please help me with my dileema.
P.s i sincerely apologize if people have asked about the secenario Before.

1) jailbreak it with redsn0w… everyone knows that… and as for downloading the firmware, you can download anything with any computer… doesnt matter if its windows 7 or dell or not. you’re doing it wrong.
2) you won’t lose any app and info, you can even back that up…

Does that mean that they’re working on a jb for firmwares higher than 4,3?
That’s my theory too that they are indeed working on a jailbreak for 4.3.3 but won’t be releasing any info about it til AFTER IOS 5 is revealed on Monday..if they were not working on it, why would Musclenerd even say that, he was the one that brought it up, came out of no where..basically implying that Comex’s iPad 2 did NOT come with 4.3.if it did not come with 4.3 and they are able to jailbreak higher firmwares, then it will work with 4.3.3..I think they just don’t want to tip Apple off on their progress

hi i had downloaded ur softwear nd did everything to the t and still after it does the jailbreak proccess it says jailbreak failed. i have ipod touch 2 gen 8 gig and its a 4.2.1. i dont understand what the problem is. i dont get anything. it goes to a black screen and wont power on unless i hold the power button and home button. ive tried about 5 times now and i have no idea what to do and all other softwear isnt working for me pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee help me i cant find anyother sites right now any advice????
Hey. I had the same problem as you. If your on a Mac, open Finder and go to Applications>Utilities and look for ‘Terminal’. Open it and type the command “cd Desktop” without quotes and hit enter. Then type the command “open Greenpois0n.app/Contents/MacOS/greenpois0n” without quotes and hit enter. A second Terminal window will open and Greenpois0n will start. Just jailbreak it like normal. Worked for me. Hope it works for you

Update: It’s worth mentioning that limera1n is a bootrom exploit that Apple can’t patch on the iPod touch through firmware alone. The real test of the Dev Team’s wits will be an untethered jailbreak for the iPad 2.

If you use TinyUmbrella now whilst on 4.3.2 it will pull the 4.3.3 and 5.0b1 SHSH’s and save them for you, you will then be ok to restore those firmwares at any time

Stupid question need answering please….ive just bought an iphone 4 white 16gb with 4.3.3 installed. What method can i use to jailbrake it? Is it possible for me to install a jailbraked version of 4.2.1 of greenpoison? or do i have to wait for the 4.3.3 jailbrake?

Like for real, Like greenpoison is the only jailbreak that most people use, because redsnow just don’t work form them, or whatever the case may be. And for you guys to say that our jailbreak will be out “soon” giving us false hope, is straight up ridiculous, you guys owe us, your customers, a reliable source, and great service. And must people just as for a friggin release date but you can’t even give them that. Just tell us the truth flat out and simple. Are you guys working on 4.3.3, when will it be out, and if you’re not working on it then just say so!
so what gives you the impression that we OWE you ANYTHING? we can’t give a release date because one doesnt exist, not everything is concrete / cut and dry. im also a firm believer in the SECOND you give a release date (eventhough we really dont have one) it will inevitably be missed. The mac version will probably come before the windows version. (i should probably get that out of the way, lest i get accused of supplying false hope again) and its release should be pretty close. thats the best you are going to get. and with how belligerent you have been about what we “owe” you, you should be happy you got a response at all.

And let’s get something straight, you can’t say you’ll have something soon and it’s not there, like if you KNEW it wasn’t going to be soon you shouldn’t have even spoken about it. And secondly the reason we ask for a release date is because it was said that it was going to be out “soon”. And now here we are a few weeks later and still no 4.3.3 jailbreak. I don’t know what your standard of “soon” is but I do know you need to fix it. And yes you do owe us what I listed above. For one the things I listed( Reliable source, great service), are simple. Don’t say you’re going to have something “soon” if you can’t provide it within two weeks. And you just flat out owe the customers , just for being customers point, blank, period. If it wasn’t for the customers there wouldn’t be a greenpoison.
