Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 !
…and, in hopes of making your holidays just a bit happier, this morning we are pleased to announce the release of an untethered jailbreak for iOS version 5.0.1, for all supported A4 (& lower) devices! This jailbreak is brought to you courtesy of pod2g’s ninja-like magic + userland exploits, which he first publicly described in this blog post and then turned over to both the Chronic Dev & iPhone Dev teams for further testing + integration into our existing jailbreak tools.
You can quickly access, download & install Corona 5.0.1 Untether (Chronic Dev team’s version, packaged in the Cydia store) for your iPhone 4, iPhone 4 (CDMA), iPhone 3GS, iPad 1, iPod Touch 4G & iPod Touch 3G *CURRENTLY RUNNING iOS 5.0.1* by following the steps below:
- Open the Cydia app on your tethered jailbroken device**
- Search for “Corona”
- Hit the “Install” button (as shown in the screen grab below)
This package will allow your 5.0.1 device to install pod2g’s untethered exploits and reboot without requiring an external tool like redsn0w or sn0wbreeze, and without having to restore your device (so you get to keep all your apps, contacts, etc).
**Note: if you do not currently have access to the Cydia store on your 5.0.1 device, you can use the redsn0w 0.9.10 tool developed by the iPhone Dev team. It is exactly the same set of files as our Cydia package, but bundled with redsn0w for new jailbreak users and/or those who are not already running a tethered jailbreak.
If you have one of the A4 devices listed above and are not using iOS 5.0.1 yet, you can update your iOS version now (though you should not update to 5.0.2 when it is released, or you will lose your jailbreak) or you can wait a few days max for our Corona 5.0 Untether package, which will be available in the Cydia store upon release.
Apologies to those of you iPad 2 & iPhone 4S users who are waiting for an A5 jailbreak; we all (pod2g + everyone here at Chronic Dev) are still working feverishly ‘round the clock to get an untethered jailbreak into your hands as well, just as soon as we possibly can.

my current iOS version is untethered jailbroken 4.1
can i jailbreak it directly using corona or should i have to upgrade to 5.0.1 first?
well if its jailbroken there is no point in doing it again on 4.1 is there?
if u dont require an unlock you can just update to 5.0.1 and then jb
i have the 4s and sometimes, not every time, when i restart my phone it will load my unthemed iphone for a second, then reload the same thing over and over. when i turn it back of by holding the power and home button it starts back up normaly except every app that i open only opens up in the top left quarter of my screen, my home screen is normal. this has happened a few times and its very annoying to have to reset my phone every time

My iOS 4.2.1 on a iPod Touch 2gen and I’m using greenpoison an older version. Is there an update on greenpioson or which jailbreak works with iOS 5.0.1 iPod Touch 2gen?
not at the moment, but you can still update to 5.0.1 and use redsn0w if you want
Can I jailbreak my iPod touch 4th gen? It wont go into DFU mode, so i tryed Green Pois0n and it said the device is not supported because its only for 4s and ipad 2 >:( any help??

OK, plug it in, hold home and power until the screen goes black, count 1,2,3 then let go of home, if the screen stay black and itunes sees the device your in DFU

but I have a little problem with my iphone 4s jalibreak (9A406) by absinthe, when I reboot the iphone can not play my music no sound comes out of the speaker and my video does not work anymore and with cydia I have a problem NODATA 1 NODATA 2

make sure you have synced with itunes, you might need to remove and resync your stuff, it looks like you may have been impatient and not allowed cydia to update properly. if re-syncing doesnt work you will have to start again fresh.
I have the new itouch 4gen. how do i jailbreak it??

I used redsnow to put Cydia and then used corona. The only problem I am having is syncing my previous apps from my old iPod touch 2gen. How do I put [REDACTED] onto the iPod touch 4gen?? Or if not [REDACTED] how do I get new apps??

Still using a turbo to allow my iPhone to read my carrier network.my phone was jailbroken using greenpoison and is on 4.2.1 and 03.10.01 firmware js need a cydia package that will allow me to unlock my network

I dont have a simcard of AT&T.When I tried to jailbreak it with abstinthe,it says that the phone is not activated. My iPod (5.0.1) is stuck in the reboot part, but already rebooted. It was connected to the computer.

My young son put Greenpoison jailbreak on his Ipod Touch 2nd Gen A1288 and it is now stuck on skull logo after trying to restore it to its original condition and erase all content in preparation for trading it in. “My Computer” nor Itunes will recognize the device when connected with the data cable. Pressing and holding buttons to get it into “DFU Mode” do nothing. Is the Ipod permanently broken now?
lol no the ipod is not permanently broken. DFU mode is in the hardware you are just not doing it right. Keep trying until you get DFU and then restore, it is really easy, people just over-complicate it

Can a Iphone 3GS running 5.0.1 use the RedSn0w untethered jailbreak? Also i see comments on the RedSn0w download page of people saying the device has to be connected to redsnow to reboot if shut off.. if this is true why is it listed as an untethered jailbreak? and if so will the corona download by greenpois0n in cydia completely untether the redsnow jailbreak if i have the same issue people are posting about? not being rude just looking for some answers. thanks guys!

I had jailbroken my i4 wid redsnow untether bt wen rebooting it use to get stuck on apple logo n I had to restore everytime I reboot..
