- Clint Eastwood mocked Caitlyn Jenner at Spike TV’s Guys Choice Awards
Clint Eastwood while recording the Spike Awards made a joke about Caitlyn Jenner. The joke will be cut from the show which is to get broadcasted later this month.
Spike TV’s Guys Choice Awards were hosted by Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard from Empire, Fox’s hit series. The award show was filmed at Sony Pictures Studio in Culver City, California.
Clint Eastwood is a prominent American actor, film director, producer, musician, and politician. He attended the awards ceremony to present an award. During the taping, while presenting a special award for “San Andreas” to Dwayne Johnson, Eastwood compared Johnson to other athletes-turned-actors like Jim Brown and Caitlyn Somebody.
The network found the joke offensive and considered it as not very funny. The senior vice president of communications, David Schwarz made a statement ensuring that the joke will be removed from the broadcast on June 18th.
He confirmed the news via email on Monday to PEOPLE magazine. However, the crowd showed a positive attitude and behaved maturely by not laughing at the joke cracked by Eastwood.
Some of the celebrities thought the joke to be very degrading and insensitive. Many people were hoping for Caitlyn’s sake, as well as for the transgender community as a whole, that the joke would be cut from the broadcast version of the show.
Caitlyn Jenner has been receiving hate comments since she made her appearance on the cover of Vanity Fair. The former Olympian has received the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs on July 15th. She especially received criticism from those who disagree with ESPN’s decision to hand her the award.

Many prominent celebrities have also mocked Caitlyn on various occasions for her gender transition. Snoop Dogg who is an American recording artist and actor from Long Beach, California called Jenner as a science project. He posted on Instagram that the world should stop putting so much focus on her transition.
Likewise, Drake Bell who is also American actor, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist posted a very transphobic message on Twitter. He said that he would still call Caitlyn by her original name, which is Bruce. But, later on, he apologized for his comments.
I sincerely apologize for my thoughtless insensitive remarks. I in no way meant to hurt or demean those going through a similar journey.— Drake Bell (@DrakeBell) June 4, 2015
Although my comments were made in innocence, I deeply regret the negative effect they’ve had on so many.— Drake Bell (@DrakeBell) June 4, 2015
Apparently Lady Jenner is not taking such disgraceful comments to the heart. She took a very bold step by embracing her true identity as a woman and was well aware of the consequences.
According to a realistic approach, people should grow up and accept what an individual chooses for himself. It’s a shame that so many people are quick to poke fun at Caitlyn, Hollywood life added. They also called Caitlyn’s action as heroic and said that it requires a lot of courage.
Caitlyn Jenner might be an inspiration for many people going through the same situation. According to a popular belief hopefully people will stop mocking her and start feeling the same way. The best way to keep away from all the drama is to follow the golden rule of live and let live. However, what critics have to say about the situation is diametrically opposed to this stance.
Learned so much this week spending time in SF at the @HRC Human Rights Campaign. Unbelievably moving. Can’t wait to share more with you.— Caitlyn Jenner (@Caitlyn_Jenner) June 6, 2015
