iPhone 6S Release Date Later Than Last Year

iPhone 6S with Cosmetic Fixes and more better Performance

A leaked internal email from Vodafone in the UK reveals iPhone 6S release date.

The new iPhone is expected to be released in September. Last year Apple has start shipping the iPhone 6 on Friday September 19. The pre-order for the iPhone 6 started a weak earlier breaking Apple’s iPhone 24 hour pre-order record with 4 million units.

Mobile News reports that they have seen an internal email from Vodafone in the UK. The email informs staff about the iPhone 6S (New iPhone) launch. Apple is supposed to ship the new iPhone on September 25, 2015. The iPhone 6S pre-order would start a week earlier on Friday, September 18.

If this is true than Apple is launching the new iPhone a week later than last year. This contradicts what Apple analyst Kuo Ming-chi has said last month. He predicts that Apple will move up the iPhone 6S release date to August.

An earlier release date would give Apple more time to satisfy the excessive demand in time for Christmas. Given the success in China, Apple might be changing its list of launch country for the new iPhone. Apple sells now more iPhones in China than in the United States. This could mean that Apple will only launch the iPhone 6S in United States and China first and Europe, Canada and Australia will be rolled into the second roll-out wave.

This move would be hard to stomach for Apple fans in those countries, but we had to suffer through this before when Apple only released in the United States first.

The iPhone 6S features according to analyst Kuo include a new 12MP camera sensor, additional microphone near speaker to improve sound quality, Force Touch, A9 CPU, 2GB RAM and improved Touch ID sensor. Apple is also supposed to add a fourth color option with Rose Gold in the iPhone 6S line-up. Kuo also says that Apple again is not releasing a new 4-inch iPhone this year. The iPhone 5C would be due for a performance update as Apple did not touch the low-end iPhone last year.

We will not hear or see anything about the iPhone 6S hardware, but Apple will reveal the operating system the iPhone 6S will ship with beginning today at the WWDC 2015.

WWDC 15 The Epicenter of Change Apple Tv

Apple will for certain reveal iOS 9, OS X 10.11 and the Beat Music based streaming service. The rumor that Apple to reveal finally a new Apple TV with a new TV viewing experience has gotten less steam lately as Apple got stock in negotiations with TV studios.  The Apple Watch developers will also get the first native SDK that will bring more exciting and creative Apple Watch apps.

The biggest topic though is the Apple Music Streaming service. Apple is rumored to plan a $10/month paid service coming with a very long 3 month free trial. Apple is reportedly to get 100 million subscribers really fast. Read the latest WWDC 2015 News, Rumors and Highlights in the I4U News Apple News Hub.
