It has been reported earlier that Katy Perry has registered a song “1984”, supposedly to counter Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” from her latest hit album “1989”

Rumors have been swirling around yesterday that Katy Perry has registered a new song titled “1984” with music publishers BMI. It led to the speculation that 1984, which is the year of birth of Katy Perry, is a response to Taylor Swift’s latest album “1989”, which also refers to the birth year of the latter singer.

However, the manager of 30-year old singer dismissed all the speculations and called the story completely false and untrue.

“Katy Perry was not involved in writing, singing, recording or registering this song.” A representative for Katy Perry told Billboard.

Nevertheless, the Katy Perry-Taylor Swift feud does not seem to get over anytime soon. It all started last year when three of Taylor’s backup dancers, whom “Bad Blood” singer considered a family, ditched her for Katy’s tour. Then, in a Rolling Stone issue Taylor Swift dissed Katy, without mentioning her name that she used to consider her a friend until “she basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch a people out from under me.” Katy Perry responded in a tweet. “Watch out for Regina George in sheep’s clothing…Moreover, Katy Perry is currently dating John Mayer who was having a relationship with Swift until 2010.

So when it was reported that Katy Perry has registered a song under the title “1984”, it was immediately taken as a revenge song to counter Swift’s “Bad Blood” which continues to gain traction on Billboard charts. The song topped the Billboard Top 100 in the last week of /4/and has sold 1.1 million digital copies in the U.S. so far.

Although the manager denied the involvement of Katy Perry in any such song in any way but BMI website is still mentioning her name under the “Artists” tag.
