- Chris Hemsworth joins the all-female Ghostbusters!
Paul Feig confirms that Chris Hemsworth will join the All-female cast of Ghostbusters as a receptionist!
Earlier on Wednesday Paul Feig announced the Aussie star Chris Hemsworth will star as the receptionist in the upcoming all female Ghostbuster movie. According to sources the studio was keen on starring Chris as the receptionist very early on but the star was reluctant.
Chris apparently thought the role was too small when the Studio reached him for the role. However the role of the receptionist has since been re-written and some even claim it has been ‘Beefed’ up so Chris has gladly joined the ranks of the new Ghostbusters.
Some reports claim the Studio had their eye on Chris even before announcing the original female cast and they specifically altered the script to give Chris more screen time and presence.
When Feig announced the news on Twitter the fans response was overwhelmingly positive with some fans not even believing the news at first. It’s safe to say the casting is one of delight unlike the backlash the announcement of the four females received earlier this year.

Paul Fieg’s latest film ‘Spy’ just topped the box office so we can safely assume he knows what he is doing. Chris will be joining an all-female cast consisting of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. The production for the film will start later in summer this year and the film will be released next year around June 2016.

In the original 1984 movie ‘Ghostbusters’ the receptionist was played by Annie Potts who took all the major calls regarding ghost emergencies. Chris Hemsworth the actor who previously played Thor and wielded a hammer will now be wielding the phone to help rid the city of ghosts by June 2016.
