Duck Dynasty Star Jep Robertson Reveals Childhood Molestation

Duck Dynasty star Jep Robertson reveals that he was sexually abused as a school kid after which he faced some dark times.

Jep Robertson, the baby brother of the Duck Commander flock had written a book with his wife Jessica titled; The Good, the Bad, and the Grace of God: What Honesty and Pain Taught Us About Faith, Family, and Forgiveness. The book is their angle on their life stories and contains their narration of their dark histories and how God had helped and guided them through their dark times. 

Among those dark stories is of Jep being molested as a child. Jep revealed to EW that he was a 6 years old grade school student. His school bus used to take high school students as well and there was an older high school student, a girl, who started to sit next to him.

They used to sit at the back and after she had established friendly contact with him, she made him touch her inappropriately which led to her making him take his pants off and that further led to further horrors that Jep only hinted at. 

He said that he started to be absent at school and didn’t tell his parents. There were always other excuses so his parents didn’t ask many questions. The horrors he endured led to a general fear of girls and women.

He started to do drugs in high school and he admits he was on a dark road. He was brought back by an intervention. He then started to pray a lot and God led him to meet his wife Jessica.

He said that her own dark past led her to be empathetic towards his own experiences and they took one another forward. He said that he doesn’t tell his parents because he doesn’t want them to think that they did anything wrong because they didn’t.

He said that God does help them through. He gave them three daughters and Jep is getting over his fear of girls in a constructive way by teaching his girls the rights and wrongs of physical contact and protecting them in a way he never could himself.
